Avocado Circle Weaving
Avocado Circle Weaving
A framed circle weaving in the shape and color of an avocado. This artwork was created by Ikesha Irvin, a participant in our programs. Ikesha (pictured) likes to weave on a variety of different forms including the loom, paper plates, embroidery hoops and more. She’s always looking to try new and challenging projects. Her projects are always filled with color and layers and layers of multicolored yarns.
“I like to make pieces for my daughter, blankets, pillows, bags, etc. She loves all my pieces I make and she asks for more , she says ‘Your colors look nice mummy! All the rainbow colors.’ Now she wants me to make her something to wear like a jacket. It takes me time to make the pieces, more than 2 weeks, I like to work carefully and slowly.”
Half of the proceeds from this sale will go directly to the artist!
