Artshare for Heartshare 2024

Heartshare holds its 14th Annual Artshare for Heartshare exhibition at Clover’s Fine Art Gallery in Brooklyn. On display was a large wall of woven fiber art pieces made by our Livingston Street Heartshare particpants, most of which have been weaving with us for 2 years. Many of the artists were thrilled to have sold pieces on opening night.



 

Bushwish Public Library

AHRC NYC, the Bushwick Public Library, and Intertwine Arts will be hosting an exhibition of circle weaving this winter season. Intertwine Arts has spent 2023 teaching circle weaving over zoom to a group of artists at AHRC NYC in Bushwick. The burgeoning weavers are now presenting their work to the public! The opening is December 15th 2023, and will be available for viewing during library hours.


“Show up and Show out”

The W83 Gallery and AHRC NYC presented an exhibition by artists who attend the Fisher Center, a day program that serves adults with intellectual disabilities in East Harlem. Artworks on display varied across mediums, including woven works created in collaboration with Intertwine Arts. The exhibit ran from December through January 2024.

Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition

A variety of colorful circle and tapestry weavings from our collaboration with Heartshare were on display in a show in Red Hook, from July to August 2023.

Common Threads

A collaborative exhibition of fiber art with bags, shirts, scarfs, tufted pieces, dolls, vessels, and other textile art! On view at the Dynamic Arts Gallery from May-June 2023, and sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.

 

Dinner’s Ready! A feast for the eyes by YAI Arts

An exhibition curated by Jimmy Tucker and Summertime Gallery, this immersive exhibit transformed the space into a hot pink 1970s dining room. Their was a table furnished with a scrumptious family dinner, each dish lovingly sourced from artists’ memories and fantasies. Intertwine Arts facilitated the creation of a rug for the gallery show. March - April 2023.

Artshare for Heartshare 2023

HeartShare’s 13th annual exhibit of new works by artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Clover's Fine Art NY. This show featured over 180 works, including many contributions from our burgeoning weavers.

 

Woven into One: Fiber Arts Show

With collaborative efforts from iAHD and Intertwine Arts, exquisite works were created by artists with disabilities for this fiber arts show. Hosted by Dynamic Arts Gallery in the Bronx and curated by Johnny Mattei & Ori-Ann Dryden, this exhibit ran from May through July 2022.

 

“Tangled in Color”: Exhibition at W83 Gallery

A delightfully riveting exhibition featuring drawings, embroideries and weavings in exuberant colors by ArTech Collective artists produced in collaboration with Intertwine Arts. It was on view in the summer of 2022 at The Gallery at W83.

 

Artshare for Heartshare

After a 2-year hiatus, HeartShare’s annual exhibit of new works by artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities returned to Clover's Fine Art NY. Hosted by @q1043 FM DJ and longtime HeartShare Board Member Jim Kerr, the 12th edition of ArtShare featured more than 200 works by 100 artists of all ages, including the first tapestry created during our partnership.

 

Baychester Library Exhibition

Visitors to the Baychester Public Library in the Bronx were treated to a colorful display of circle weavings, courtesy of our collaboration with AHRC NYC . The weavings on view were created between 2020 and 2021 over zoom, facilitated by Intertwine Arts teaching artists.

Opened November 2021, the exhibit was meant to stay up for only a month. However, the community enjoyed it so much, that it remained on view through May 2022!
