Us Intertwined: Disability Community through Fiber Arts Danaleah Shoenfuss and Maurine Packard
Saturday, March 8th
2:15 - 3:00 pm
In this presentation, Intertwine Arts will guide you through a typical day in one of our weaving workshops for people with disabilities and/or chronic illness. We will share our principles of accessibility, show the informal structures of how we keep our artists creative, as well as the set-up for a fun, collaborative, supportive and joyous community. Intertwine Arts will also share the variety of physical tools in our programs, from specialized equipment to scrappy everyday objects that provide a variety of disability supports. The presentation will include materials and guidance to create your own DIY loom, which you can enjoy weaving during the presentation, and/or take home to enjoy.
