Intertwine Arts Co-Founder

Brandy Godsil is a textile artist and educator with over 15 years of experience creating and working in the textiles and fashion industry. She creates textile art and garments that include a variety of processes, such as weaving, natural dyeing, eco-printing, felting, embroidery, and tailoring. With a focus on experimental textiles and sustainable fashion design methods, Brandy creates bespoke garments and one-of-a-kind artworks that are inspired by nature, as well as cultural and personal mythologies.

Intertwine Arts Program Artists

AHRC New York City is a nonprofit organization that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across New York City through a wide range of services, including education, employment, residential, day, and community-based programs. Intertwine Arts partners with AHRC NYC to bring accessible weaving and fiber arts programming to its community, creating opportunities to experience the joy and agency of making fiber art.

Intertwine Arts Teaching Artist

Andrea Alexander is a textile artist who weaves together artwork, content, and community. She began her career in marine biology, but her curiosity for color and pattern led her to textiles and a degree in Textile & Surface Design at FIT in New York City. Today her practice grows from a rooftop dye garden in New Jersey, the loom in her studio, and travels to study weaving traditions around the world.

Intertwine Arts Teaching Artist

Naomi Lawrence is a NYC Fiber Artist based in Harlem, NYC. She works with acrylic yarn to create oversized 2-Dimensional crochet flowers, trees and wildlife. The site-specific installations are sewn onto chain-link fences in parks and public spaces. Public engagement is a primary goal of each installation.

Fisher Center AHRC NYC Program Artist

Johnny has been weaving with Intertwine Arts at AHRC NYC. He likes to work on the cricket and floor loom, and created this jacket with the help of teaching artists Qiqing and Andrea, who helped Johnny patch-work his pieces of fabric together to create this look.

Heartshare Program Artist

Veleka is a dedicated weaver who is a 2026 Felix Awards nominee for her work as a neurodivergent artist. 'Hawaii Skirt' combines hand weaving and found materials to create a dynamic skirt inspired by traditional hula skirts.

Fiber Artist

Faune Yerby is a textile artist who found a love for spinning her own yarn when she couldn’t find a store yarn thick and chunky enough for her own weavings. You can see more of her work on Instagram @fauneyerby

Heartshare Program Artist

Ikesha from Brooklyn has been weaving for almost 3 years now, and has made a large portfolio of projects including circle weavings, bags, blankets, and garments. She is a very popular person in the weaving classroom and has made friends with all her fellow artists. Ikesha loves to make pieces for her daughter, and also enjoyed selling her artwork. When asked about her process she says ‘It takes me time to make the pieces, more than 2 weeks, I like to work carefully and slowly.’

YAI Program Artist

Tayloe Schinz-Devico fell in love with weaving the first time she tried it, and has become one of our most exuberant fiber artists. She uses bright colors and yarns with lots of texture and fuzz, and loves working on all different types of looms. Her favorite color is blue.

Intertwine Arts Teaching Artist

Faviola López-Romani is an interdisciplinary artist, educator and horticulturist. Through textile, sculptural, and time based practices, López-Romani emphasizes active plural ontologies and nonlinear life expressions.

YAI Program Artist

Chris Chronopoulos loves a challenge, and that’s what brought him to weaving. An avid sculptor and painter, he loves that you can take yarn and make into anything you want. He is drawn to gradient yarn, and loves to create complicated and beautiful striped warps.

AHRC NYC Program Artist

Alejandro Ballinas is a Mexican artist based in Queens, NY. He is a confident weaver, utilizing the floor, fame, and paper plate loom in his practice. Alejandro loves bright vibrant colors but are favorites are red, white, and green, the colors of the Mexican flag. He enjoys watching futbol, almost as much as he does lending a hand to a friend in need.

IAHD Program Artist

Sharifa is a fiber artist who engages in many activities including weaving, crochet and braiding. She easily learned to use the loom and weaves independently. She wants her fabric made into clothes. She keeps her crochet projects in a bag with her so she can create anywhere.

Guest Designer

Lonely Worm Farm is a Hudson Valley care farm where adults with physical and intellectual disabilities can connect with nature and each other, learn about regenerative agriculture, obtain job training, and express themselves through the arts. They foster an inclusive environment where everyone can grow, learn, work and play–and share their skills and insights with the general public.

VISIONS Program Artist

Keona is one of the more recently artists to join the VISIONS weaving class, and she has fallen in love quickly. She likes to try all the different looms, and is working on more complicated projects like the stuffed animals. She had the idea to make this dress from her woven panels, and wanted it to fit multiple sizes, so we used drawstrings and a generous cut.

Intertwine Arts Teaching Artist

Lin Qiqing(pronounced Chi-Ching) is a textile artist based in New York City. As a former award-winning journalist from China, she tells stories about migration, memory, identity, and language through her distinctive figurative weaving, made with natural fibers, paper and fabric.

Fiber Artist

Sugandha Gupta is a textile artist, designer, maker, disability advocate, and educator. She creates multi-sensory textiles and wearables which can be experienced through the senses of touch, sound, smell, and sight. Through her creative practice and advocacy, Gupta hopes to bridge the gaps between the disabled, and mainstream society.
